Description
A good harness is crucial for getting up on a wall, whether you’re in the gym or up on a big multi-pitch. Harnesses are lightweight, adjustable, have plenty of loops to hang gear and can be worn over hiking gear for added safety on big mountains. Simply synch the harness above your hips, make sure you’re properly tied in or clipped in, and up you go!
How to choose
- Belt size: Harness waist belts should fit over the Iliac Crest. It should be snug enough that you cannot pull it down. Ideally the buckle adjustment should be halfway through its range and not maxed out at either end.
- Leg Loops: Leg Loops should be comfortable but do not need to be super tight. You should be able to place a flat hand between your leg and the harness.
