Outdoor recreation requires a lot of equipment, particularly in the Pacific Northwest – we often see renters who need as many as 10-15 different items for an upcoming trip. Unlike previous rental marketplaces, GeerGarage does the work to contact and match you with nearby lenders that can make your outdoor goals a reality.

We’ll be honest; it’s not easy to find the right lender. Adventurers often travel unpredictably, use their equipment themselves , or simply aren’t free to lend over specific dates. But at GeerGarage, solving that problem is on us.

Tell us the types of gear that you need. We use that info to find and contact lenders on your behalf. It is free to create a booking request. We only charge you once we successfully match you with a lender.
We contact locals who have your requested gear and match you with one who is available and meets your needs. Once you are matched, you will be notified and charged the rental fee indicated at checkout.
Once you are matched up, chat with the gear lender using our messaging platform to determine a meeting location. We provide a suggested area to make things easy. Want to know the best local spots to go paddleboarding as well? Now is the time to ask.
At pickup time, perform a quick inspection and note any pre-existing wear and tear on the gear.

Bring the gear back to the lender at the agreed upon location and time. Once it is returned, the lender will perform a quick inspection and complete the rental. After completion, you'll get your security deposit back.

Choose your gear from our list of currently supported inventory. Only list gear for rent that is high quality, clean and in good working condition. It should be gear that you would not hesitate to use yourself.
We use Stripe payment processing to deposit your earnings directly into your bank account. Stripe is used by some of the biggest companies today including Lyft, Target, PostMates, Shopify and Squarespace to name a few. To learn more about Stripe, visit their website.
Note: You configure your account with Stripe directly through the GeerGarage website.
When a renter requests gear that you have listed for rent, we'll invite you to claim the rental. We contact multiple lenders for each rental and match the renter on a first come first served basis. Opt in or out of any rental as your schedule allows.
Decide on a pickup location / time and meet the renter to do the gear exchange.
Once your rental is complete, we deposit your earnings directly into your bank account. Let your gear make you money instead of sitting on your shelf collecting dust!
