How to choose
- Car camping vs Backpacking: Car camping bags are much heavier and bulky than backpacking bags. Backpacking bags are lightweight, can be packed down and are normally carried on your back into the backcountry. They can also be used equally well on car camping trips.
- 0 degree: These bags are great for car camping or backpacking in winter conditions. No one likes being cold, so make sure you get a cozy night sleep with a 0 degree sleeping bag.
- 20 degree: A 20 degree bag makes it easy to spend a comfortable night under the stars. It’s an appropriate bag for most spring, summer and fall nights. If you are considering camping during the winter, consider the 0 degree option.
- 30 degree: A 30 degree bag is appropriate for most summer nights and works well during the shoulder season. If you’re worried about getting chilly at night, consider the 20 degree option.
