Description
Our basic backpack pack is best for multi-day trips into the backcountry. It’s large enough to carry all the outdoor essentials, including your sleeping bag, tent, food, and a change of clothes or two. Packed efficiently, a backpack can swallow an amazing array of gear. But what goes where? There’s no one right way to pack. Lay out all your gear at home and try out different loading routines until you’ve found what works best for you.
How to choose
-
Men’s vs women’s: The frame size for women’s backpacking packs are typically
smaller. This creates a more comfortable fit if you have a smaller torso. Due to
these smaller frame sizes, women’s packs can be a great option for children of
either sex as well.
-
30 - 50L: Packs of this size are good for short overnight trips if you are an
extremely efficient packer. If you do not have much experience we would
recommend a larger size until you have a better understanding of your pack
capacity needs for an overnight trip.
-
50 - 70L: This is the most common backpacking pack size and is ideal for most
overnight trips lasting 2 nights or more. It is great for warm weather trips and
most cold weather trips if you are an efficient packer. These packs can be used
in a variety of situations, from backpacking to ski touring.
-
70L+: These packs are great for more extended overnight trips and cold weather
adventures that require additional clothing and equipment. These are also great
options for parents taking their kids along due to the extra equipment needed to
accomodate the children.
